Janet Kaplan was an Honorary psychotherapist in Adult Mental Health at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital, London and practices as a psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice. She also works as a psychodynamic counsellor in the NHS. She is also an approved Dynamic Interpersonal Therapist. Janet is the founder of Counselling for Lawyers, which offers lawyers a safe place to talk in confidence about issues which are affecting their work and possibly their private lives. www.counsellingforlawyers.co.uk
I hold a Masters of Science in Psychodynamic Counselling from Birkbeck College, London University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from Birkbeck College, London University and a Foundation Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Regent's College, London. I am a regular attendee on the Lecture Course at the Institute of Psychoanalysis. I have a BA (Hons) from Leeds University and a Post Graduate Diploma in French from Strasbourg University, France.
Janet is an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and works to the Association's Code of Ethics. She is also a Member of the Association of Independent Practitioners and on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. She holds a Criminal Records Bureau Certificate (CRB). Alongside her private practice, Janet has presented a workshop for GPs on counselling.
